Releasedate ITLOW

It seems the releasedate for ITLOW is changing with each month. The officiel WIP site now has the release scheduled for fall 2006, which means that for now it has not been postponed till next year.

The same site that had the trailer for In the Land of Women on their site, also has a small version of a possible movieposter for the movie. The link to the trailer on that site seems to have disappeared, but the direct link as given in the previous post about the trailer should still function.

CARE National Advocacy Conference

Meg participated in the CARE National Advocacy Conference on June 7 and 8 in Washington DC.

CARE created the 'I Am Powerful' award this year to honor those people who serve to empower others. On the first night of the conference, actress and CARE ambassador Meg Ryan presented the tribute. Ryan praised the honoree, Violeta Chunchu, as 'a real and powerful woman' and embraced her affectionately. Chunchu belongs to the Shuar ethnic group in Ecuador. (...) As CARE staff translated from Spanish, Chunchu gave thanks for the award, and acknowledged the transformation in her life and in her community as a result of CARE's work. 'The work with CARE has changed our community,' said Violeta Chunchu. 'Shuar women have become self-sufficient and I, a woman, was elected leader of my community. Tonight, I am very moved and proud to represent Shuar women, Ecuador and women in general.'

Hawaii Vacation II

Meg, Jack and Daisy are still on holiday in Hawaii. There have been several sightings this past week: a.o. Meg and son Jack catching a movie at the local movie-theatre and swimming with Daisy in the pool of their hotel. Photos below show Meg with Daisy at the hotelpool three days ago.

There is finally a trailer for In The Land Of Women online. You can find it here (requires Quicktime). It's a very long trailer; perhaps a little too long as it seems to give away too much info about the story.

Meg to adopt another child? (In Touch via Sammie's blog)

Another Baby? - Meg Ryan adopted a baby girl from China in january, and it looks like she's planning to do it again! At Barneys in LA, on May 27 Meg was overheard discussing her new baby plans and this time it'll be a boy.

Meg buying a mansion on Martha's Vineyard? (Boston Herald)

Well, apparently the place agreed with her, because word is the 'Sleepless in Seattle' star has an agreement to purchase a 12-room estate on North Neck Road designed by famed architect Roderick James. The house, listed for $7 million in 2004, has 5,664 square feet on 6.7 acres.

The six-bedroom, 4 1/2 -bath estate sits high on a cliff overlooking the water. It has post-and-beam construction with "an English oak interior brought from England by barge." Coincidentally - or not - the architect was in charge of the rehab of Windsor Castle!
"It's the kind of place where you would have horses," said Someone Who Knows.

Meg Ryan a secret road rager? (Star Magazine via Sammie's blog)

Does L.A. traffic turn perpetually perky Meg Ryan, 44, into a demon on wheels? A flustered driver tells Star People that he was moving slowly in the right lane while searching for a parking spot along La Cienega Boulevard on May 26 when a car started to honk furiously behind him. Eventually the angry driver pulled up alongside of him, and "the next thing I know, Meg Ryan is telling me move it or else," the stunned driver tells Star People. "She's swearing at me, 'Get out of my way!' I was freaked!" the driver claims.
